राधिका और नवीन को आज तलाक के कागज मिल गए थे। दोनो साथ ही कोर्ट से बाहर निकले। दोनो के परिजन साथ थे और उनके चेहरे पर विजय और सुकून के निशान साफ झलक रहे थे। चार साल की लंबी लड़ाई के बाद आज फैसला हो गया था।

दस साल हो गए थे शादी को मग़र साथ मे छः साल ही रह पाए थे।
चार साल तो तलाक की कार्यवाही में लग गए।

राधिका के हाथ मे दहेज के समान की लिस्ट थी जो अभी नवीन के घर से लेना था और नवीन के हाथ मे गहनों की लिस्ट थी जो राधिका से लेने थे।

साथ मे कोर्ट का यह आदेश भी था कि नवीन  दस लाख रुपये की राशि एकमुश्त राधिका को चुकाएगा।

राधिका और नवीन दोनो एक ही टेम्पो में बैठकर नवीन के घर पहुंचे।  दहेज में दिए समान की निशानदेही राधिका को करनी थी।
इसलिए चार वर्ष बाद ससुराल जा रही थी। आखरी बार बस उसके बाद कभी नही आना था उधर।

सभी परिजन अपने अपने घर जा चुके थे। बस तीन प्राणी बचे थे।नवीन, राधिका और राधिका की माता जी।

नवीन घर मे अकेला ही रहता था।  मां-बाप और भाई आज भी गांव में ही रहते हैं।

राधिका और नवीन का इकलौता बेटा जो अभी सात वर्ष का है कोर्ट के फैसले के अनुसार बालिग होने तक वह राधिका के पास ही रहेगा। नवीन महीने में एक बार उससे मिल सकता है।

घर मे प्रवेश करते ही पुरानी यादें ताज़ी हो गई। कितनी मेहनत से सजाया था इसको राधिका ने। एक एक चीज में उसकी जान बसी थी। सब कुछ उसकी आँखों के सामने बना था।एक एक ईंट से  धीरे धीरे बनते घरोंदे को पूरा होते देखा था उसने।

सपनो का घर था उसका। कितनी शिद्दत से नवीन ने उसके सपने को पूरा किया था।

नवीन थकाहारा सा सोफे पर पसर गया। बोला "ले लो जो कुछ भी चाहिए मैं तुझे नही रोकूंगा"

राधिका ने अब गौर से नवीन को देखा। चार साल में कितना बदल गया है। बालों में सफेदी झांकने लगी है। शरीर पहले से आधा रह गया है। चार साल में चेहरे की रौनक गायब हो गई।

वह स्टोर रूम की तरफ बढ़ी जहाँ उसके दहेज का अधिकतर  समान पड़ा था। सामान ओल्ड फैशन का था इसलिए कबाड़ की तरह स्टोर रूम में डाल दिया था। मिला भी कितना था उसको दहेज। प्रेम विवाह था दोनो का। घर वाले तो मजबूरी में साथ हुए थे।

प्रेम विवाह था तभी तो नजर लग गई किसी की। क्योंकि प्रेमी जोड़ी को हर कोई टूटता हुआ देखना चाहता है।

बस एक बार पीकर बहक गया था नवीन। हाथ उठा बैठा था उसपर। बस वो गुस्से में मायके चली गई थी।

फिर चला था लगाने सिखाने का दौर । इधर नवीन के भाई भाभी और उधर राधिका की माँ। नोबत कोर्ट तक जा पहुंची और तलाक हो गया।

न राधिका लोटी और न नवीन लाने गया।

राधिका की माँ बोली" कहाँ है तेरा सामान? इधर तो नही दिखता। बेच दिया होगा इस शराबी ने ?"

"चुप रहो माँ"

राधिका को न जाने क्यों नवीन को उसके मुँह पर शराबी कहना अच्छा नही लगा।

फिर स्टोर रूम में पड़े सामान को एक एक कर लिस्ट में मिलाया गया।

बाकी कमरों से भी लिस्ट का सामान उठा लिया गया।

राधिका ने सिर्फ अपना सामान लिया नवीन के समान को छुवा भी नही।  फिर राधिका ने नवीन को गहनों से भरा बैग पकड़ा दिया।

नवीन ने बैग वापस राधिका को दे दिया " रखलो, मुझे नही चाहिए काम आएगें तेरे मुसीबत में ।"

गहनों की किम्मत 15 लाख से कम नही थी।


"क्यूँ, कोर्ट में तो तुम्हरा वकील कितनी दफा गहने-गहने चिल्ला रहा था"

"कोर्ट की बात कोर्ट में खत्म हो गई, राधिका। वहाँ तो मुझे भी दुनिया का सबसे बुरा जानवर और शराबी साबित किया गया है।"
सुनकर राधिका की माँ ने नाक भों चढ़ाई।

"नही चाहिए।

वो दस लाख भी नही चाहिए"

 "क्यूँ?" कहकर नवीन सोफे से खड़ा हो गया।

"बस यूँ ही" राधिका ने मुँह फेर लिया।

"इतनी बड़ी जिंदगी पड़ी है कैसे काटोगी? ले जाओ,,, काम आएगें।"

इतना कह कर नवीन ने भी मुंह फेर लिया और दूसरे कमरे में चला गया। शायद आंखों में कुछ उमड़ा होगा जिसे छुपाना भी जरूरी था।

राधिका की माता जी गाड़ी वाले को फोन करने में व्यस्त थी।

राधिका को मौका मिल गया। वो नवीन के पीछे उस कमरे में चली गई।

वो रो रहा था। अजीब सा मुँह बना कर।  जैसे भीतर के सैलाब को दबाने दबाने की जद्दोजहद कर रहा हो। राधिका ने उसे कभी रोते हुए नही देखा था। आज पहली बार देखा न जाने क्यों दिल को कुछ सुकून सा मिला।

मग़र ज्यादा भावुक नही हुई।

सधे अंदाज में बोली "इतनी फिक्र थी तो क्यों दिया तलाक?"

"मैंने नही तलाक तुमने दिया"

"दस्तखत तो तुमने भी किए"

"माफी नही माँग सकते थे?"

"मौका कब दिया तुम्हारे घर वालों ने। जब भी फोन किया काट दिया।"

"घर भी आ सकते थे"?

"हिम्मत नही थी?"

राधिका की माँ आ गई। वो उसका हाथ पकड़ कर बाहर ले गई। "अब क्यों मुँह लग रही है इसके? अब तो रिश्ता भी खत्म हो गया"

मां-बेटी बाहर बरामदे में सोफे पर बैठकर गाड़ी का इंतजार करने लगी।

राधिका के भीतर भी कुछ टूट रहा था। दिल बैठा जा रहा था। वो सुन्न सी पड़ती जा रही थी। जिस सोफे पर बैठी थी उसे गौर से देखने लगी। कैसे कैसे बचत कर के उसने और नवीन ने वो सोफा खरीदा था। पूरे शहर में घूमी तब यह पसन्द आया था।"

फिर उसकी नजर सामने तुलसी के सूखे पौधे पर गई। कितनी शिद्दत से देखभाल किया करती थी। उसके साथ तुलसी भी घर छोड़ गई।

घबराहट और बढ़ी तो वह फिर से उठ कर भीतर चली गई। माँ ने पीछे से पुकारा मग़र उसने अनसुना कर दिया। नवीन बेड पर उल्टे मुंह पड़ा था। एक बार तो उसे दया आई उस पर। मग़र  वह जानती थी कि अब तो सब कुछ खत्म हो चुका है इसलिए उसे भावुक नही होना है।

उसने सरसरी नजर से कमरे को देखा। अस्त व्यस्त हो गया है पूरा कमरा। कहीं कंही तो मकड़ी के जाले झूल रहे हैं।

कितनी नफरत थी उसे मकड़ी के जालों से?

फिर उसकी नजर चारों और लगी उन फोटो पर गई जिनमे वो नवीन से लिपट कर मुस्करा रही थी।

कितने सुनहरे दिन थे वो।

इतने में माँ फिर आ गई। हाथ पकड़ कर फिर उसे बाहर ले गई।

बाहर गाड़ी आ गई थी। सामान गाड़ी में डाला जा रहा था। राधिका सुन सी बैठी थी। नवीन गाड़ी की आवाज सुनकर बाहर आ गया।
अचानक नवीन कान पकड़ कर घुटनो के बल बैठ गया।

बोला--" मत जाओ,,, माफ कर दो"

शायद यही वो शब्द थे जिन्हें सुनने के लिए चार साल से तड़प रही थी। सब्र के सारे बांध एक साथ टूट गए। राधिका ने कोर्ट के फैसले का कागज निकाला और फाड़ दिया ।

और मां कुछ कहती उससे पहले ही लिपट गई नवीन से। साथ मे दोनो बुरी तरह रोते जा रहे थे।

दूर खड़ी राधिका की माँ समझ गई कि कोर्ट का आदेश दिलों के सामने कागज से ज्यादा कुछ नही।

काश उनको पहले मिलने दिया होता?
